The dex is happy to welcome Prof. Dr.-Ing. Silvio Beier as a new member!

Silvio Beier is holding the Chair of Urban Bioengineering for Resource Recovery at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar since 2017. He is a member of the executive board of the connected Bauhaus-Institute for Infrastructure Solutions (b.is).

After completing his studies of Civil Engineering at the FH Neubrandenburg and at TU Braunschweig, as well as additional training, he finished his doctorate at the RWTH Aachen under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Pinnekamp in 2010. The following years he spent at TU Hamburg and the PFI Planungsgemeinschaft GmbH & Co. KG Hannover/Hamburg. In 2016 he returned to RWTH Aachen as FH-Professor for Urban Water Management and Waste Management. He has authored many national and international publications.

His main areas of expertise are the removal of emerging contaminants from wastewater, energy and resource recovery from wastewater, as well as the advancement of water-management-related infrastructure.
